About
A weekend of sidewalk artistry in downtown Blackfoot.
The Chalk Art Festival invites artists of all ages to transform Broadway Street into an open-air gallery. Working directly on sidewalk blocks with chalk, participants create original pieces over two days before the community gathers to celebrate the results at an awards ceremony at the Candy Jar Art Gallery.
Spectators are welcome to stroll Broadway Street throughout the creation days and watch each piece come to life.
Entries are judged within three age groups: 10–12, 13–15, and 16+.

Artists claim their sidewalk block and begin work on Broadway Street in downtown Blackfoot.

Guidelines
Festival Details
- Open to artists of all ages, judged within three age groups: 10–12, 13–15, and 16+.
- Each artist works on an individually assigned sidewalk block.
- Sidewalk blocks measure approximately 50″ and the full working area is 70″ × 60″.
- Chalk (red, white, blue & black), paper towels, and Q-tips are provided.
- All work must be completed for judging by 11:00 AM on August 8.

Chalking takes place on Broadway Street in downtown Blackfoot. The Awards Ceremony is held at the Candy Jar Art Gallery.
